View Full Version : Antenna Hole Plug?

I pulled my radio finally while replacing that stupid bulb and was wondering if anyone here has found a nice, clean looking plug for the antenna hole in the rear quarter.

The M3 uses a wire in the glass or something, so there is no exposed antenna. So, when the radio is deleted, there is no hole to plug. This may be why I could not delete the radio when I ordered my car...

Anyway, I will make an aluminum plug if I have to. I can have it anodized black, or paint it. It will look perfect, but can I just buy a factory or other plug that will fit here? I've been looking for a suitable plug for a while now, and have not found one.

Perhaps some of you radio-junkies (with ear-splitting systems etc.) know of a company, and/or part number for a factory plug.

Thanks.

Hey J!m,
I think I may have something for you as i recently did this on my VW. I used a bar end plug from my MTN bike. very simple and effective. Go to a bike shop and you can get a set for about a $1 . They friction fit the one I used had very wide aggressive threads like a screw so I just screwed it in. it sits flush and tight...give it a try.

Thanks. I probably have some of those kicking around the shop already...

Why didn't I think of that???
