I just want to know what you think is the most ideal spark plug to use for the 1995 318ti Tune up? By the way, I called the BMW dealer to ask how much will it cost me for the tune up and he said, "544 dollars..." I couldn't believe it. Just sharing. . .

That sounds like the cost of an Inspection II.
Plugs, filters, fluids, etc.
I do most of that myself and then have my independent do the messy stuff that I can't in front of my house.

i put bosch platinum 2's in mine. i do all my car work myself too and the spark plugs are fairly easy to replace. ive heard a good spark plug is worth it...but i didnt notice any difference switching to platinum plugs.

I prefer the NGK plugs. Mine came from factory with NGK. No issues. Almost 3000 mikes of track time and still going.

The NKGs in my car lasted 100000 miles. I replaced them with Bosch Platinum +4s but didnt notice a big boost like i did when i put platinums in my old BMW.

Check with some BMW dealers. There have been instances where one of the four electrodes have burnt off the Bosch plug and dammaged the cylinder wall and rings. The four electrode plug is not recommended.

i have heard of issues with multi electrode plugs like the bosch 4's. but mine came from the factory with the standard bosch 2's (non-platinum) marked with BMW and everything, so i doubt they will be a problem. i havent heard anything specific problems of the 2's.
