holding the engine

Has anyone else had a problem with their engine mounts breaking?
I cant remember ever hearing of this happening, and its not occured to any vehicle ive driven before :? .

just curious cause it recently happened to me (duh).

It's happened to me as well. I couldn't believe it. Engine mounts are a wear item?

Never buying another BMW.

I had to replace mine too... I think the problem is the way that they are made, is just some rubber, and with the pull of the engine it basicly just rips them apart, at least that is what happened with mine. I think they have some out there that are aftermarket that hold up better, but the whole car will shake a little more too. :?
