I am looking at upgrading my '96 sand gray cloth interior to sand grey leather and found a guy parting out a rolled '98 ti with that color interior. He sent pics and there is an area on the back of the drivers seat that is peeling paint (he verified this and gave the reason as the heater vent under the seat for rear passengers). This car supposedly has only 28k miles. If you were looking at the back of the drivers seat it would be at the lower left corner of the seat back and about as big as the palm of your hand.

First of all, can anyone out there with the light gray leather interior verify that their seat backs are painted? Anyone else experience paint chipping off from heat vents or otherwise? Sounds weird to me... :?:

I have a '98 ti with light gray leather interior... the backs of my seats are the same plastic material as the inside door handles. None of these areas have paint flaking off... it seems as though the color was mixed before the parts were molded so I'm not sure how it could flake off.

Hope this helps a little....

Thanks for the reply. Mine are plastic (and so the color is molded in). I can't understand why it would chip off. Oh well...
