8.5 x 17" rear wheels will it fit 97 ti

bought some wheels without knowing if they will fit my car.will it fit my rear 97 ti with 8.5 x 17" (245/40/17 tyres)? i know the front will have no problem with the 7.5 x 17" (225/45/17).thanks.

They will fit I am running 17x8.5 in front and 17x9.5 in the rear on a 95 ti.

It depends very much on the offset of the wheels chosen.

The factory M3 8.5x17 wheel with a 245/40-17 tire fits with ease, as will a 255. 265 and up depends again on the particular tire chosen.

I have 275's on the rear now (Michelin Pilot Sports), and they rub slightly, with factory forged M3 wheels.

Did u have to roll the rear fenders to fit the 9.5inch wheel back there? Any mods needed in the front?
