Will this alarm fit my ti?

A freind of mine has an OEM alarm (siren, black box, fobs) he took out of his '97 M3 part # 82 11 1 496 445. Will it fit my 1996 ti? The dealer says "probably" but because it's a ti he can't guarantee my car is prewired. He just "thinks so". Can anyone help?

They are prewired for the most part but I do think you will need a hood switch. I wonder if you will also have to bring it to the dealer to have it reprogrammed.

Hmmm...good point. I spoke to Bavauto yesterday since they offer OEM and Stellar alarms. The part they list as for my car ends in 444 not 445, but supposedly BMW updates part numbers all the time and they don't adjust their catalog/database.

Has anyone installed an OEM alarm themselves? It's listed as plug-n-play, like anyone can do it. :?:
