Greetings all, perhaps you can help me with this. My wife locked (?) the hatch with the Master key and now it seems that I can not unlock it. It is stuck in the horizontal position.

And before you say it...yes I am using the Master Key in my attempts to unlock the hatch.

Any suggestions?

Did anyone ever figure this one out?

I'd like to figure out how a thread from 2004 has not had a single response until now

Try some graphite lubricant. If that fails, penetrating oil (NOT WD40) overnight.

i have the same problem in the e30 on the trunk and im not sure if it because i am using a non master key or not because i only have one key lol.

but i think its master because it has the courtesy light on it.

it wont even go in all the way. i need to fix her.

My problem is that I can't get my trunk to lock! I'm not even sure how to lock my trunk... It's in the vertical position and I can turn to the horizontal position but I can't pull the key out unless I turn the key back to the vertical position.

Good news!

I was fiddling around with the trunk lock today and I got my trunk to lock! It was just rusty as hell from all the years of neglect, that's all. Maybe I should lube it up with some WD-40 now? My thumb hurts from all that hardcore turning..

edit: just saw the no wd-40 post above..
