I have a chance to score some wheels, the M split spoke series off of a 330Ci (only three), and one tire. Is $500.ºº a good deal? Because they have a little more curb rash than I'm use to seeing and I am going to need a fourth wheel plus three tires. 225/45/17x7.5 Frnt – 245/40/17x8.5 Rr.
Pls advise anyone??? :)

Not a bad deal depending on the amount of curb rash. You'd better double check the fitment on the rear though. 245's on 8.5 width rims will definitely rub on your ti. Better to get 4 fronts at 7.5 width and keep the same tire size all around (225)...

I traded a set of 4 of stock E-36 328i sport wheels and $400 (bare, but perfect) for a set of five staggered M-double spokes (also bare) about six months ago.
That seemed about fair.
I've got a set of four of the E-46 front sport wheels (seven spoke, I think - the flat VW/Audi looking ones) with worn out track rubber on them in my garage that I would trade for a set of E-36 328i sport wheels to put snow rubber on. Or $400, which would just about get me steelies and snow tires.

Yep, 8.5 will work on the front, but will rub on the rear. I would not recommend wider on the front than the rear, so better to go with the same width all the way around...
