I Decided that the rear of the car will look complete with a rear wing on it. In my experience, I've seen three good looking rear wings for the Ti.

1. The BMW OEM Rear wing. Pretty conservative relative to other tuners out there, except for the fact that it has a bad ass authentic ///M technic symbol smack dab in the middle of it. Classy and makes the car look sporty.

2. The Hartge 318ti compact hatchback rear spoiler. eg

Unique Styling, still relatively conservative. Only issue is, I can't seem to get a good angle on how it actually looks. It protrudes pretty significantly out of the rear it seems, almost in a duck tail fashion. Too much of that could be a no-no. But I'd like to see more of it if possible.

3. The rieger rear wing for the e36 Compact.

Aggressive, but not over the top, I think it transforms the car well. Of course the rear apron is executed quite well on this pic too, so that could have something to do with it. From what I understand, this rear wing could possibly require modification of the rear wiper or the rear antennae. My memory fails me, but I recall there being an issue with one of the two... I emailed the AMI staff (a us distributer of rieger), but the rep didn't know better of any modification required. jedermann sprechen Deutsches?

Impressions anyone? Additional suggestions to stir the pot??

I'm going with the M3GT rear wing with risers.

I have a pic in my personal photos if you want to see it.

I like the OEM as well, but was considering the painted version from BavAuto. Didn't know about the ///M on the orig. though! I really like the looks of the Rieger. Much like the one on the M3. What's the cost dif.? Has anybody had luck with the ones on eBay? Very factory-like.

I like the OEM and Hartge, but you don't often see a Hartge spoiler on a ti, so that might be a better choice if you want to be different.

BTW, where were you planning to get the Hartge spoiler and how much? I'm actually considering that one and the Racing Dynamics spoiler ($185.25 before tax & shipping). It's a bit plain and simple, but clean.

I spent a long while shopping for spoilers, and finally decided on a universal spoiler from Wings West that fits almost perfectly on the shallow rear Ti deck. You'd have to search around a bit but I'm sure they still sell it in the universal wing section of Wings West for a decent price. You can see pics of it on my car in my album.
