Conforti CAI w/ ITG Foam Filter

I have been discussing this with my local euro tune shop, and we are going to try and figure out a way to custom fabricate a cold air intake for the stock ti engine. If this works out, I will post info on how we did it.......that is if we actually do it. :)

ok so I decided not to spend money on my intake, and have been doing a bit of custom work (i.e. horn removal, de-baffling).

When I was taking off the airbox lid, I noticed the bulky piece connected to the left of the lid, it also fed into the airbox....

Anybody know the purpose of this piece, could I just remove it? I'm thinking that it may tamper with the vacuum effect.
