So I saw this pic. online of a 318ti////m

It was on Cardomain.com, Is there such a thing ?!? I mean aside from throwing an M series engine in the car ?! and Badging it ?!

Did Bmw ever proudice an M series 318 ?! Cuz this thing had the M seats, stearing wheel, etc...

What about Dina (spelling ??) and was that an option or a pgk also ?!

Thanks.

Also if someone had a 318ti, and Badged it as an M isnt that a bit
fake and "ricey" ?!? I mean people would either think your funny
or just plain stupid, right ?!?

There is 318ti with the factory M package.

It's bodykit, steering wheel and trim package.

Still got the m44 engine

There is 323ti(M52b23) is Europe, although I haven't seen one imported here yet.

And Dina is Dinan. Dinan is a BMW tuner.

Some E36 M3 owners used to give me crap because of the ///M badging. I told them it came that way. This was back when I had a 4 cylinder. Then when I would pull away from them in the corners they came back. I would tell them, this car costs 1/2 as much as yours and twice as much fun. Anyone can drive fast on the straights.

I never had a problem from E30 M3 owners or anyone else for that matter. Only E36 M3 owners.

Yeah, I have a club sport and I get that a lot. Did you put the M body kit on your car? Why is it badged as an M? Even though it says 318ti on the back. I have seen some people put M badges in place of the 318ti badge, which is a little ricey unless you have the M3's engine.

So every Bimmer person, I have to explain that it was a club sport and it came from the factory that way.

I often have people tell me that they have a Club Sport even though it might be a color other than Jet Black or Bright Red, not to mention it's not a 1995!

I know this is a bit off topic, but I have the model car that you all seem to be talking about. Its a 1999 318ti with the M side skirts and bumpers. It has the m badge on the steering wheel and sides, yet it dosn't have the spoiler. The price sticker that came with the car lists it as a base model, but it seems to have all the sport components. SO what I'm asking is, whta type of 318ti do I have?

For model year 1999 the sport package became standard. This is not the Club Sport but essentially the same package offered as optional since 1996. Here's what BMW said about it back in 1999:
318ti Sport
• Sport Package, formerly
optional, is now standard and
model is renamed 318ti Sport
• New cloth in (now standard)
leather-and-cloth upholstery
(as of 1/99 production)
For 1999, the former Sport Package
is now standard. It adds the
following features:
• Sport suspension
• 16 x 7.0 Round Spoke alloy
wheels with 225/50ZR-16 tires
• Foglights
• M-Technic full body-color
bumpers and side skirts
• Leather trim (steering wheel, shift
knob/boot, handbrake grip/boot)
• Sport front seats
• Special leather-and-cloth
upholstery.
Stand-alone options
In addition to the California Roof,
the selection for 1999 includes:
• Power 2-way sunroof
• Heated front seats
• Cruise control
• 4-function Onboard Computer.

Hope this helps,

-Phil

I have a 1996 318ti M Sport. I haven't goten any crap from people about my car, most of the time all I hear is "wow, is that an m3"...then I have to say no, its not =(. LoL.

Anyways, I love the car. All I've done is put on 18" chrome wheels, and clear corners and side markers. I'd love to do an engine swap soon considering mine already has 121k miles.
