gas gauge quit

just let the gas gauge light come on then filled it up and the gauge and light stayed the same. the fuses are all good.. any suggestions would be apprecitated.. only 44,000 miles on it so i doubt it is because of old age.

Probably a pump/sender (therer are two pumps). I have had both of mine replaced now- no problems since. The pumps were changed (improved with new part numbers too if I'm not mistaken) some time in 99.

My gas gage dropped to empty (and the light came on) right after filling up. It was still under warranty, and was fixed no problem.

It's been fine ever since.
