I just picked up some new rims and now it is time for tires. I'll be running 17x7.5 rims. I was thinking about running 235/40's with the plans of getting new H&R Sports with Koni Sports. The issues I'm running into is the limited amount of tires in that size. I was thinking about a 225/45, but the OD of that is 25" vs the 235/40 is 24.4". My main concern is over-all height in the rear obviously for the reason of rubbing when I lower it. What is everyone running for tire sizes in this situation. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh I forgot to add, I have the M50 swap so I'm trying to have enough tire width that I'm not burning tires off and that it actually grips

Right now Im looking at either Dunlops or Hankooks.

Most likely I will go with the Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110.

I have heard nothing but good things about them and they are extremely low priced at tirerack.com

Very well rated by many consumers.

I think Im already sold.

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 235/40ZR17 for the win.

edit* not sure about them holding the M50 down (or vice versa) but they can snatch the pavement off the road in my m44 - and i dont have the H&R installed yet, but its next on the list and the guy i got my rims from (95 m3 style 22 17") said id have enough room.

good luck show pics!

well i'm a Michelin boy through and through!! can't get enough of em.

i stuck some continental sport contact 2s on the back of my ti and blooody hell do they grip!! really hard to get the arse end out (had to rev it right up to 5000rpm to get the bugger sideways).

a lot of people have larger diameter alloys on here - well i'm boring! i keep it original, with my 16 inch 5 spokes, running 205/55W16 Michelin PHP front - and 225/50W16 Continental SPC2 rear respectively.
