Im looking for an inexpensive but nice looking shift knob because mine is broken. I found this one: http://shop.store.yahoo.com/rodi/xxxpm137s.html but I am not sure if it will work with my shifter (OEM). Does anyone know of a shifter of similar price that will work with my car?

I prefer original equipment like this one on ebay,

though I can't tell if this one is plastic, leather, or the new one with the plastic/aluminum-look half-cover. If it's leather, that's a good price. Many different types available from BMW with many different pattern inserts including several with M-stripes or M-logos. And they fit properly on your car. Most of the other universal models use a set screw of some kind.
Or here's the new style "titanium" version again with M-emblem for a currently very cheap price that probably won't last:

Thanks for the reply. I guess my best bet is to buy a BMW shifter to ensure that it will fit on my car.

I got one from Nikis-place.com. About $90 from Europe, but it feels GREAT and illuminated. Slightly smaller than stock- feels precise.
