when i first bought the car 152,000 km the car was very smooth and had a real nice engine sound a very quiet low grunty noise.

now at 167,000 km the car does not seem as powerful and i really only notice the nice engine noise at night time the car also seems to drive alot smoother at night time.

the car generaly does not seem as responsive or as powerful as when i first bought it.

what is hte problem.

Perhaps the following:

Plugs-replace with NGK platinum.

Plug wires? Old? replace with above.

Dirty gas/injectors--try chevron fuel injector cleaner.

Other than a change in ambient temp or humidity, I can't think of any reason!

another thing that actually helped me is engine restore, it comes in a silver can and cleans and just helps to smooth out old engines again. I didnt think it would work when I bought it but I think it helped a little, that and run mobile one synthetic oil will help out the situation. another possible culprit could be a clogged cat converter.

It might also be that you are getting used to the car. My car always feels fast right after I do a mod, but then I get used to it. I don't realize how fast it is until I race another car or something. It just puts things back into perspective.
