Any thoughts on fitment of 18X8 with 40mm offset on my '96 ti (currently stock height, but considering lowering)? Considering 225/40-18 tires.

Thanks!

I think I'm at the max...19's 225/35/19 I have about a 1.5" drop. Since going from 18"s last year the 19's rasied the over all height on the car just over an inch. But they fill the wheel well's better. I did loose a little handling as well. The car griped much better w/ 18's. Even with the narrower 215/35/18 tires. but it looks cool

did you guys have to do anything to the car to fit 18s? I always thought 17s were the max before you get into modifying the car.

i'm running 18's with a 40mm offset and 225/35 tyres. fits with no probs. no rubbing on full lock. if anything, they look a bit small. i need to lower the front end to make it look better.

You have to post a picture of your car with 19"s on it. I really need to see what it looks like.

Mine are 18 X 8.5 with Toyo Proxes 225/40/18 front and 235/40/18 rear. I'm using Bavarian Autosport springs. Not a problem, I love the ride.

depends what you drop it on if youre gonna do a big drop like h&r race i wouldn't do 18's but you should be fine with sports or bavauto spirngs.

I'm running 18x8.5 with 35 offset and no rubbing with 225s, I do have a bit of rubbing on the back with 235s (nothing fender rolling won't take care of though)

18 are a bit overkill. I went with 17X10 rear and 17X9.5 front. I know who am I to be talking about overkill. tire sizes are 255/35/17 rear and 225/40/17 front

those tires are way too skiny for those wheels

Thats the streched look. I have 215s on a 8.5.. Increases tires contact patch.

plus if I go too wide it'll scrape in the fender wells.

i am running 18x8.5 35et with 235/40 and i had to roll the rear fender lips and i'm rubbing the front fender wells (splash guards). everything sits on h&r race springs.

I'm running Hartge 18x8.5 (40mm ET) with 225/40 Dunlops for the street on a Hartge suspension (Eibach/Bilstein). Initially the rear rubbed and was taken care of with rear quarter lip rolling.

I need a little advice. Can someone explain "offset" to me? Also I am looking at a set of 18X8.5 wheels with 225/40zr 18 on the front and 255/35zr 18 on the rear. Will these fit a stock 98 318ti?

Thanks

In one year i put on my TI, 18x8.5, 19x9 and 20x7.5, i think 20 is an error, between 18 and 19 18 ride super better but 19 look best, i your descicion, remember the tire cost, but never past over 19 if you love your car
