I have just bought a "BMW CD CHANGER A" off e-bay. It came with a bracket which is marked e36 but I cannot fathom how to fit the bracket. I think it may be a bracket for a full sized e36. Is the compact bracket different? Should I have bought CHANGER P? Where can I get a bracket?
Could anyone attach a picture of the correct bracket and its fitting location.
Do I have to cut holes in the carpet to fit it?
thanks in anticipation :? :? :? :?

P.S I have connected the unit to the leads and it works fine.

The brackets are different.
The 95 used one type.
+96 used another.
I'm guessing non compacts mounted the CD changer under the rear deck.

You do have to make a few cuts in the side carpet.

Have I bought the right changer for a 98 318ti? I bought the CHANGER A model number 65.12-8 360 284. Should I have got the CHANGER P?
I rang my local dealer and told them the age of the car and he ordered me a bracket for £15. I asked him if this was for the CHANGER A and he could only say it was for the changer that was fitted to the cars in 98. Was this changer fitted to the 318 ti in 98?
It connects up and works it''s just the fitting I'm worried about. Does it go vertical or horizontal?

I'm not sure. The picture of the radio doesn't match up to what is in the US. Maybe the UK gets a different radio.

The changer gets mounted at a slight angle.

I'm having the same problem. I've got an Alpine cd autochanger (when I can finally get the rubbish pioneer out, won't budge) can anyone put a link to a picture of an installed changer please. I've seen them fitted to the back seat, but thats totaly impractible. Do you need any special brackets?
Thanks.

this guy's page is a terrific resource. he's very knowledgeable, and most of the time friendly.

I have both brackets, they seem to work the same. I have used them to insatall Alpine CD changers and I now have it used with my Alpine DVD changer. I had to drill matching holes but damn it looks OEM stock.

Any pictures of install?
Anyone had a box made to fit changer in (like a sub enclosure?)

I fiberglassed a sub box to fit around the cd changer
