I got rear ended couple years ago and the spare tire hit the speed sensor and broke it. I got a replacement part but the connector never matched up to the sensor correctly the clips on the connector never matched. it seemed as though the prongs on the sensor were too long. so. Here is what me and my dad did..
take the cables coming to the connector out and strip them.. Connect 2 receiver*** or correct me here.. electrical connectors with Plastic covers on them to the prongs. and connect the wires with electrical caps..
After i covered everything up with electrical tape and Voila..... Speedometer works.. here are the pics..
