Need suggestions.
Anyone good at vbulletin styles?
Do the categories need to be changed?
Soon www.318ti.org will have a new home page.
We need to get this site rockin!

I like how the old web site had a list of the most recent posts made. It's really handy as we don't have to visit different sections of the forum.
Can something be done with VBulletin?

There is a selection for New Posts towards the top of the page. Or you liked the portal page how I had it divided by new posts on one side and classifieds on the other. If that is the case I have been working on something similar. Just haven't gotten it to work on my test board.
I spend a few hours every night trying to improve the forum.
The is something called vgarage that I tried to install where people could post comments about their cars as well as pictures.
Either phpBB was much better at allowing mods than vBulletin, or I just haven't figured out how to install mods yet.
I do want to make 318ti.org the one stop place of ti enthusiasts. I am trying.

Do we have a gallery of our cars? If so, where.
Thanks

Not yet but soon. I just had something installed that is needed before I can go further. I am experimenting with two different addons for people to post photos.
One is a garage type addon where you can post pictures and mods on your cars. Another is just a photo gallery called photopost.com.

Thanks. I'm trying. After I moved the board from phpBB to vBulletin I found the server I was hosted on constantly not connecting with the database program. I moved the site to a new hosting coming which seems to be working out much better. Plus I installed the photo gallery and articles section. I hope people find this site useful.

Steven, you've really done an amazing job with this forum. Would it ever be possible to have live audio chatting on 318ti.org?

I like it better than DTM...it loads faster on a slow connection. Besides, I never find good info about the 'ti on DTM.

Live audio chatting? I don't usually see more than a few people hear at one time.
I had chat on the old phpBB board but it did not seem to bevery popular.
DTM probably loads so slow because of all the graphics. No need for everyone to have a huge picture of their car in EVERY signature line.

Can we have images in our pics? Maybe limit them in size so pages don't take too long, but still look nice?

Actually traffic dropped 2/3s. I was seeing 300 hits a day down to 100 since school started. But I would rather have quality posts than people who want to see their post count go up.
I was about to abandon everything because vBulletin ws loosing the connection with the database. I think we got it figured out now. If we go one week without a failure, I can safely say it is fixed.
