lately, my alarm has been triggered by nothing. its crazy i know, but its randomly gone off about 5 times in the last week. i got called out of AP Calculus and had to go turn it off...haha. i parked my car, walked away to go get a nice sub sandwich with my lady, and about 5 seconds later, the alarm is going off!

its crazy...my car is losing its mind!

any idea on how to fix something like this? should i just quit using my alarm?

The sensitivity level is way low, so take out the glove box and you will see the unit at the back, with a nob to set the level.
Try this or look under the hood to the passenger side, there is a switch at the top that gets depressed with the hood. There is a small plastic FAT nut that holds the switch down when the hood comes down, and sometimes that nut gets loose and falls off or the switch itself goes bad.
Check these two things.

Good luck!

BTW to check the sensitivity level try to put your hand palm side down on the window and punch it on th top. If the alarm goes off then its too sensitive.
then set it high and next time just punch the windscreen with a little force and repeat until desired sensitivity is reached.

I am having a similar problem with my 96 Ti. I have already verified that that hood switch is working properly and that all other switches too are in good order. Could the actual alarm module have gone bad? If so, does anyone know where I can get another one?
