I need some insite on what is available for this engine and what can be done to get more power besides turbo and supercharging. If there is anywhere to get these parts please let me know.

Pullies
Intake
Cams
Tuning software
swapping intake manifolds or throttle bodys to other BMW parts
exhaust flanges to custom build your own exhaust
Pistons
Rods
Ect...

Lets get these TI's beefed up

Pullies
Those would have to be custom made, no one makes them for the M44 (318 engine)

Intake
There are a few out there, but most of them are worthless, your best bet would be here (http://www.logun.org/fog.htm)

Cams
www.bimmerperformance.com offers them, and I have been trying to find ANYONE who has used these so I can get some feedback (hint if you have experience with these then email me or PM me, thanks)

Tuning software
There are a few people that make chips for our cars, I have never been a fan of chips, so I really don't know much about what's out there and what works. Just stay away from the +20hp ones you see on Ebay.

swapping intake manifolds or throttle bodys to other BMW parts
I don't think there is anything here that will benefit you (feel free to correct me if I am wrong, I'm still learning about these cars too)

exhaust flanges to custom build your own exhaust
There are a few companies that make catback exhaust for our car, the general consensus is that Stromung or Supersprint is the best, just do a search on here and you will get all the info you could want on these two.

Pistons
That would be a one off production, no one mass produces pistons for our car, although paeco does have all of the specs for making some (so they would probably be the easiest company to go through if you wanted pistons).

Rods
None as far as i know.

Downing Atlanta Superchargers is pretty much the tried and true method for boosting our cars. Go to www.understeer.com for more info on this.
Mosselman also offers a turbo kit for our car with slightly less output than the DASC kit, but it has more potential (IMO). check out www.kormanfastbmw.com if you are interested in this route.

Also check out the writeups on this forum, and just read around.

Sweet I am trying to contact them on the cams. I am wondering what the best combo is though. Equal intake and exahust, higher intake and lower exhaust, or lower intake and higher exhaust. I also see that they have a combo that includes 2 cams and a computer reflash. I e-mailed them reguarding ordedring and pricing so I will let you know what I find out soon. If the prices are reasonable I will probably go ahead and go with them. If not I am going to have my cams reground locally using specs that I have obtained.

I don't really want to buy my exhaust so I am going to make my own.

I might also consider making my own intake and heat shield setup

As far a gearing are we pretty much set up at the best possible ratio and can you put a locking differential in a car with the traction control system?

You should be able to use a LSD with the traction control since that is all based on wheel/hub speed. Yeah if you hear anything from them on specs for the cams and pricing then let me know. I've been pestering them for a while and haven't gotten a response yet.

Well I sent a e-mail to them and still no response, maybe soon :ashamed:

I have found one other place that offers cams and has specs for the m44, however my cams must be sent in for them to grind. www.kentcams.com

I have also located a place locally that will regrind cams, so I will be checking with them to see what can be done.

Lets get these TI's beefed up

Pullies - Nobody makes them. It would have to be custom
Intake - Make your own use a stainless steel tube, and use alluminum for the heat shield since it is a heat sync.
Cams - BMP has the best selection
Tuning software-M44 Nick G. Technique Tuning
swapping intake manifolds or throttle bodys to other BMW parts - BMP has the only multi throttle body intake system.
exhaust flanges to custom build your own exhaust-Dunno. UUC makes the one with the most power gain. It was proved by European Car a few years back.
Pistons-JE Pistons, & Total Seal rings. If you are going to go this far you may want to stroke the cyl.'s change the crank to give yourself a 2L motor = more useable torque.
Rods-?
Ect... - Supercharger DASC W/ IAAS Aftercooler
