Please help; Need Certified Mechanic in SE Michigan

HI this will be my first time posting here. Let me tell you a little bit about my situation. I'm a single mom with 2 kids and having a rough time.

My 96 318ti blew a water pump and only starts when I turn the steering wheel a certain way. In fear of losing my job I went to the State for help. They have agreed to fix my car but I need two estimates from two different Licensed Mechanics.

Does anyone know a good Mechanic that would give me a free estimate?

I will tell you now though, if it overheated it's not worth fixing.

Oh, Jeez...It did overheat. I was parked and heard a loud hiss, then steam poured out of the hood. There was antifreeze all over the ground.
