Sat aug 27th at Prince Georges County Stadium (Bowie Baysocks Stadium) CDC is having an autox.

I'm thinking about going, unless I break something else on my ti. Hopefully it'll be better than the last auto-x I took the ti to.

Maybe I'll get stick up my butt and get the wagon auto-x ready. :hahano:

Well, I'll shoot for the CDC one, and just giving everyone a heads up. The CDC is a great group to auto-x with and are pretty laid back.

Only one other cdc auto-x at bowie this year. The rest are in VA or at harry grove in frederick. Frederick is closer for me, but the course is small and tight- kinda tough for noobs. Probably great for the ti, I did great with my wagon at frederick,

How much is it to register for CDC if you're not a member?

From their website:

How much does it cost?

Capital Driving Club (CDC) event fees are as follows:

Auto-x events cost $30 for club members and $40 for non-members and guests.

Test & Tune events cost $35 for club members and $45 for non-members and guests.

Entry fees are payable in CASH at the registration table on the day of the event. Cash is preferred. However, if you absolutely must write a personal check, please make it payable to "Capital Drivng Club". Sorry, but we do not accept credit cards, Paypal, or any other form of payment or trade for event fees.

...

Once an event is listed on the schedule page you will be able to see its current reservation status. Members can reserve a slot for themselves and their guests at any time. Non-members must still wait for the “open” reservation period, which begins 8 days before the event (e.g. Friday March 16th for the Saturday March 24th autocross) so long as slots remain. Events fill up quickly and often sell out entirely so be sure to reserve your spot early.

40 for autox, 45 for the T&T.

So I will definitely show up for this, I'd probably go to the Frederick ones too.

The BMWCCA events at Waldorf just seem too far, especially having to deal with 301 the whole way down.

Cool. Will be good to see everyone again.

Though I just realized that's the day after a huge upgrade/cutover at work. I really hope I'm alive for the autox.

Wish I had a set of autox wheels/tires... but we'll see what happens with the work I've done to the suspension. The auto trans is a PITA....

I'm just going to use my 15's w/ 205/60 all seasons. It will be cool to see how the various tis compare.

Yeah, well tires are really the least of my problems. The trans and getting used to driving with it are the big problem.

Bring your wagon out, I'd love to see that thing going around.

That's on street tires (sold the slicks like 3 years ago) and the diff is broken. Not going to happen this year.

People swear ti's can handle...So, i'll try it again.

yeah, very true. Just sucks not having a competetive car... Few other BMW's attending....a 2000 M5, few M3's....

Good times though. Good lot for autox too.

Come on, don't you guys want to autox in a hurricane?

familytruckster
08-27-2011, 02:06 AM
OK, because of the media going completely nuts about the hurricane, my overnight was cancelled because of a live show this evening- so I will be auto-xing!

And they haven't cancelled it either!

I put the new diff cover w/ M-coupe on today....much nicer. Very easy swap, and quick to do.

Little moist, but fun.

Dave, thanks for staying and helping clean up. Same for your brothers. I know it was greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I had a blast. Results are up and I wasn't the slowest, lol, so that's the best I could hope for. It would have been nice to get a couple dry runs in but going in the rain was good experience for sure.

Everyone just disappeared at the end, the least we could do was help with the cones and tents.
