After overheated will not start

My e36 318ti overhead on the way home, at home it will not start. There is no sign of oil in the water. any suggestions? Anyone with these problems before? I have only had the car less than a week so I'm new to the forum. Thanks

Do a compression check on all cylinders first then go from there.
