Does anyone else's girlfriend or wife not understand why we obsess over the 318ti? I'm always working on it, talking about, it or cleaning it, or we will be out somewhere and i'll say something like "wow this road would be great to drive my car on" and she says things like it's a "97 or- it's just red, or it's not a super car" haha. Don't get me wrong, she's into audi's, Mercedes, corvettes, but when it comes to my baby ti it's a whole new story ;)

I have the opposite problem. My wife likes Trixie so much that she wants me to teach her how to drive a stick so she can take her and let me get something else. I told her I wouldn't even trade Trixie for a brand new M3. We settled by agreeing to look for a used BMW when its time to get my wife a car. She prefers an auto and 4 doors, so I'm thinking a used 318i would be a good choice if I get one in good condition and keep up with the maintenance.

One thing I've found out from owning a 318ti and a 320i is that BMWs will last forever as long as you keep up the regular maintenance and don't cut corners when doing repairs. Of course, that applies to all cars in general. Bimmers just happen to be a little more fun!

Lucky man that's pretty cool. My girlfriend does want me to teach her stick. Though, she does like the ti far better than my first car, '95 Acura integra that was pretty beat!

My girlfriend is totally on board with my car. She loves to learn about it and drive in it. She also likes the bucket seats surprisingly. She drives mini copper that's stick so she already knows how. She really wants to drive my car but she can't see over the steering wheel because of the buckets. Clutch is pretty dern stiff too. She's actually gonna trade in her mini for an '10 john cooper works. She has a sub too;) lol. She knows her place behind my lovely Ti lol.

hahah sounds exactly the same here, my girlfriend likes those super cars and everything and has no idea why i obsess over my ti and spend money on it, she says its just a car and its just a material thing, i personally think it is a bit of jealousy, its her thinking that i love the car more than her which is not true, car love and girl love are different in every way, dont ever say that shes jealous though hahah that night would go horribly wrong, but i think she will understand once she gets her first car, she said today though that its growing on her haha

Haha I'm right there with you :P What I hate most are my friends who say their favorite car is the "2012 Lamborghini or 2012 camaro".

Also, i forgot to mention, her dad used to be a car dealer, and he always had the lastest and greatest, a new car every week, so i understand why she may think so in some circumstances.

hahah yea i hate those kids, hahahaha thats hilarious slow_ti im not that straight forward, and i have a friend whos dad is the ceo of Adcock Brothers and they sell cars at the Manheim auto auction and every day his dad roles home in a new dealer car and they do domestics so its always the sickest m3 or r8 its unnecessary

If you never told her it was 97, she'd never know. Ti's are timeless and girls know nothing about cars anyway.

cooljess, you're completely right. i always have people guess the year of my car before i tell them. the red also makes it look newer too.

Thankyou ...

note i live in Fiji and i stated this earlier but there is only 3 x 318ti in the entire country (small island) a second hand ti is 38k FJD or 19K USD our currency is too low to sustain beautiful women and amazing cars but i will not give up with this ti... Long live the TI
