Anyone interested in coming out for a meet in a couple weeks? I picked Cockeysville because it is fairly central and there is good parking with a few restaurants near by.

If a bunch of people can't make it we can change the date/time.

Been thinking about it. I managed to make the car handle and drive what I can consider "decent". This means I could actually consider using it for autox, in that eventuality, I would want some stickier max performance/R comps-Which I would want in a 16" size.

I was thinking about the auto-x meets. When CDC posts their schedule, I'll start a thread. Good venues, and get to play with the cars legally. I want to try and actually do some auto-x's this year.

I would come but two and a half hours away is a little far for me and dont want to hold anyone back meeting elsewhere :) I REALLY want to do an auto cross sometime though. Have to fix my front sway bar bracket first

BMWCCA autox starts March 17th at Bowie with a autox school. CDC hasn't posted their schedule yet but they also started in March last year.

I just figured we'd do this because everyone wanted to move the meet after christmas.

Blah, I don't trust my car at all....and I drive it 150-60 miles every day...At the ragged edge, on the speed limiter :) 911 Turbo and a charger this morning... Tore up a GTR the other week too.














The GTR was behind a slower person than I was.

Mine needs a complete drivetrain, so I'm not worried about it taking a dump on me. I've got a diff coming, DS is going to be ordered soon, trans hopefully this summer or whenever it stops working completely. Metric Mechanic motor eventually, when I can afford it or when motor #3 grenades. Or I'm just getting a 1 series.

Yup, sure did-well trying to get it. Only took like half a million emails for him to respond. Said he was going to pull it out of the car this weekend. I also ordered new seals, stub shaft clips, and a bunch more things from tischer.

I really only got the CL one for the stub shafts. That'll be up for sale soon, minus stub shafts.

Yeah, I'll have 50 hrs at days end today. To tell the truth, I am soo sick of ot. Been on 10's and 12's for a year now. Its good for my pension credits but I'm getting burnt out. I scheduled a 3 day weekend for next week. Can't wait, lol.

Not sure, but I don't want to take the chance of tearing the car apart, and not having them. The drivers side of my current diff has a lot of play. Not sure how bad the damage is.

I'm off all of next week and I want to get it swapped, Gonna try and get a rebuilt driveshaft too.

Going by tischer today for the seals and other stuff, got a big stack of parts waiting.

That'd be great. I never have good luck with cars. On the last diff I messed with, I was just going to replace bearings and axles and found the diff carrier was trashed along with the gears. The inner race of the carrier bearing was spinning on the carrier, and the gears had lots of chunks missing. 800 bucks later I had a torque biasing diff and new gears, which only lasted about 2 autocrosses before destroying that diff....It's got a design flaw, which is making me want to go full floater on the wagon. Thing is, that's a lot of green.

I got a full lap of the mall in before anyone showed up.

From what other people tell me it is fairly quiet from the outside. I only remember hearing truckster's stromung but he has an extra resonator installed which quiets it down. I like the exhaust, it's got a good sound inside the car and no drone.

In my experience, the Remus has a subtle tone to it, not a lot of drone. The Stromung is very pronounced and deep, even at idle. I prefer the Remus with the oval tip, it fits the diffuser good. For performance I'd go for the Stromung, but the Remus for overall style and sport.

I'm not even getting on anyone's case and chewing anyone out :redface:, I'm not a football coach. If you clowned me for missing a meet I'd join in on the fun, can't take the interwebz too seriously. We joked the whole meet so excuse me if my trolling is upsetting you.

But hey I think it's kind of a low blow to try and down my exhaust, you don't even know much about it, and lettuce be honest you saw a shot and you took it. The car definitely isn't a show queen, but hey thanks for the tip :redface:

And thanks man, I think the Eisanmann just adds to the car's character, it's pretty raw even down to the long tips. I don't mind it at all, I know what the car needs and it's fun seeing people's faces when they see the muffler. It's what owning a Ti is all about :redface:

Well, I have ebay headers> resonator> 6 cyl stromung and as you say truckster, it sounds deep and mean at idle and even better as the rev increases. At highway speeds and when I need to downshift it gives off a very annoying drone, at least inside the cabin. I guess it'll have to do for now...

I had a ti supersprint exhaust and it wasn't even close to the stromung. Quite as can be, I'd say a little louder than stock.

I guess eventually, I switch it up for a remus or eisenmann or uuc. I want a deep tone without the drone at cruising speeds...

The cams gives the car a ton of revs definitely, but if you wanted to go FI I would look to find a tune that compensated for the cams as well
