I've got 225/40/18s on my ti and they fit fine, those would only be slightly taller

I'd be concerned about the offset since he doesn't list it, E36s need an offset around ET40 or so

The M50 Club Sport we have came with 235/40/18's and the fronts rubbed lowered on H&R's.

I'm not sure about that. While they may be a little big, they don't look out of proportion on 18's. I'm running 245 40 18's on my Millies, and they look a LOT smaller sidewall wise than the 225 45 18's on my other wheels.

Best pic I have: http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/116/rakeo.jpg

The rears are 245 40's. I would prefer they be 35's, but getting a set of 4 for $80 makes my preference irrelevant:wink: The fronts (215 35's) were WAY too small sidewall wise, the rims would have been bent to hell by now. I liked the stance with them, but the car rides much better with the 245 40's front and rear as I have currently (or at least once I take the snows off the rear).

My millies are 8.5" fronts, 9.5" rears FWIW.

I'm not saying it can't be done or it does not look ok... I'm just saying that's not the proper size for an 18 inch rim on an E36... and at least in my experience, the fronts rubbed.

Not sticking close to stock diameter throws off gear ratio, mpg, speedo, and odometer.

Gotcha. I don't rub in the rear at all, but because I don't like wheelgap, the fronts do occasionally rub. I could raise the coils, but the rubbing isn't bad enough to warrant it.

I'm pretty sure my speedo is within 1 or 2 mph according to the GPS. The 225 45's do throw it off though.

well i just got an email from from the gent. he said that they were on his 525i e34. the offset is et20. since my car is not lowered i shouldn't have any problems

8" wide wheel with et20 offset might be close... you probably won't be able to put a wide tire on it and might even have to stretch a little to keep it from hitting the inside of the rear wheel well, especially with passengers in the back.

Sure, you can get it to fit but I just don't think these cars were designed to run an 18" wheel. Just my $.02

what is the offset for our cars?

Stock offset is et46. Depending on tire size an aggressive offset can be in the et35 - et41 range while keeping proper tire dimensions.
