I think my throw out bearing is going bad on my car and would like to replace the clutch and flywheel. I want to upgrade to something better. Any suggestions.

I might just go with this Sachs set up.

If you can cough up the cash the Stage II Flywheel and clutch combo is awesome.

I have the Stage II flywheel and E34 M5 clutch and I love it. Pedal is firm and Engagment is solid. Plus it can hold 300 HP so the lock is incredible.

Where did you purchase this set up and how much was it?

It's at uucmotorwerks.com, under the flywheels section, ~$1000. It doesn't specify that it will fit on a 318, but I guess it will. All that stuff is pretty interchangeable. ZeroG can clarify.

Everything is pretty much plug and play. The only thing is that the bell housing of a 6 cyl. is a little bigger on the inside then the 4 cyl bell housing is. All you need is a grinder to grind of the fins that are in the way maybe a half-hour of labor.

What type of driving do you do with the light wheel flywheel and M5 clutch?

I might be better off just spending 250.00 to fix the clutch.
In the near future I want to do a 3.2 conversion.
