I am towing a 318ti with manual transmission from NJ to FL with a tow dolly. The tow dolly has the front wheels of a car loaded and the rear wheels on the ground. They recommend disconnecting the driveshaft on rear wheel drive cars. Since it is a manual trans, do you think any damage would occur if I did not disconnect. If I should disconnect, whats the easiest way without removing driveshaft completely.

it should not hurt it. there is no easy way since there are studs in the rear flange on the driveshaft. Also it is almost impossible to remove the shaft without dropping the exhaust. Or if you have a V8 Chevy in your Ti you must pull either the rearend or engine out. HA HA HA ha

that recommendation is normally only for automatic equipped cars since the pump won't run but the internals will still turn, burning the clutches up. On a manual trans, it relies on self-oiling and the whole thing won't be turning anyway so you should be fine.
