25. [generalizing] I think people that buy 318ti's tend to act more mature than people buying Civics and other cars. On the Mazda 3 board I go to the people seem less mature, even though most are probably the same age.

i just fiquired b/c you made a point to tell people you dont gamble, **** or drink
judging by your last couple days posts you should start drinking alittle...........

On a music video today I heard a cool guy Rapper say " check out those duece-dueces on that escalade" get it?
got it.

but i'm protestant...non-denominational.

and i do not gamble, have sex, or drink by choice. and i'm proud of those choices.

plus i'm a leader of my church's middle school and high school youth groups (pretty much second in command). so i'm not gonna set an example that does those things for these kids. they look up to me.

and not just because i'm 6'4".

Most of us are most or less free to do what we want but it's down to the individual to set his or her own moral standards; standards that he or she are comfortable to live with.

My own personal opinion, and please don't take this the wrong way and think it is some kind of lecture, is that the western world's morals have gone to pot. I am totally non-religious but I feel if people took more notice of the seven deadly sins we would all be a lot better of.

I don't think that the seven deadly sins has anything to do with religion; I feel they are purely a guideline to enable a group of people to live together in a civilised manner. I am not saying that we should all adhere to them 100 per cent but I am suggesting that if we took more notice of them there would be less strife in the world.

Well, I'm thirty-four...and I look GREAT in our 'ti'. In fact, we specifically bought it because I look cute in it. :chick: (At least I think that's why we bought it!) Bzuefishx is NOT a "old 35 year old" either dang it......he just sees all these 21 yr old's in here and wonders...why wasn't I buying cool cars back then? Buying the "ti" at 33 was a great deal for him...fun car to work on/race around, and the wife digs it too :eyebrow: which works out for him pretty well.

Tell me about it.
We went out for New Years dinner with some people my wife works with.
We were the youngest ones there (at 49 and 50).
I felt as uncomfortable with them as when I pull up to a meet with a bunch of 18 year olds. The only place age doesn't matter is at the track. I guess that is why I like it so much. :)

Bill Strong
01-01-2006, 06:10 PM
The same is happening to my MR2 club. Guys our age are now too concerned with pensions and retirement :)
The young ones are now being able to afford the cars and are building them up to another level. Only problem is that "level" is so far to the left (drag racing) than what us right wing (track and fast road) drivers like. The "kids" seem to think that you need a gazillion hp to have fun in a car. I want so bad to give these kids a ride in a 1960 Mini Cooper to show them that big HP is not the be-all-end-all. But big hp sure does look good in a magazine. :)

Why "sadly"? The alternative to growing older is far worse...

I did something really stupid about a month ago. I threw a couch, now every time I turn my head to the left, my right arm goes numb. After a few weeks it wasn't getting better, so I decided to play disc golf and maybe try to stretch it out.

Couches and Frisbee have ruined your night life...that's just the beginning my friend.

I wake up feeling like a Zombie every morning. The aches and pains come and go...I require 2-3 cups of coffee just to get the cob webs cleared. That goes for Saturday And Sunday mornings as well. I sleep in those days until at least 7:00am. So I don't get it.

Besides, I've already sown my oats, plenty...you learn to live with changes in your life. I figured that after 50, you're "out of warranty" and best be prepared for the changes coming! I'm still a car nut, my BMWCCA # is 1661 and I still love older BMW's. Lots of things are good in life and I have a great family:hug:!
