1998 318 TI. I am the origional owner and have had a problem with the face plate facia (the radio and heater/ ac control cover plate) spider cracking in the illuminated areas. I have just installed my 3rd one in 15 years. Basically the light bulb behind the plate dries out the cheap decals on the fan speed/ heat control/ direction knobs and causes them to dry out and crack making the area look ugly when illuminated. It is a relatively easy fix for the do it yourselfer. The part is now a special order item and getting harder to find.
