New BMW Owner - 318ti w/ 89k - Maintenance Questions

I just bought a 96 ti w/ 95,000 miles on it. Have no idea of maintenance history. A reputable BMW mechanic suggested doing the 90,000 mile service which is $480 to make sure everything is in good shape. What do you guys think? The only weird thing that has gone wrong in the week I've had it, is the sunroof sometimes opens at the back, then stops, and won't close. Any experience on that?

With any new purchase and not knowing past history I would do Inspection II and start your maintenance from there.

I don't know what you get for $480.
I would replace all oil and filter. Air filter. Gas filter. Transmission and diff fluid. Plugs. Microfilters. Flush brake fluid. Inspect rear shock mounts. Tighten up the battery clamps and be sure the terminals are clean. Add water as necessary.

Off hand I can't think of anything else.

Thanks. I got the Inspection II and went from there. Covered all the things you mentioned.
