Chocolate martinis rock my socks off!!!!

At home I like to drink Zubrowka (Polish vodka with buffalo grass for a really spiced taste) with apple juice. Tastes just like apple pie!

Gin and tonic

Only Bombay Saphire Gin though. Im picky.
Other then that Beer and I don't like beers you can twist the tops off of. If you can twist the cap off its not a real beer.

I make my own beer...I am relatively new at it but it is alot fun and the beer tastes great. I make it in 5 gallon batches...Right now I have bottled a Nut Brown Ale(similar to NewCastle), Oatmeal Stout(Dark and Flavorful), Witbier(German Wheat Beer, cloudy and full of summer flavors banana, clove and citrus), and I am soon brewing an Irish Red ale! So Beer is my favorite Drink! Then Vodka Martinis, I am a sucker for green olives!

Any real drinkers in here?! Power Dinkers?! Sydeshow are you in some kinda, I got a scholarship to a private or christian school and I can't drink or I get kicked out or lose my scholarship? I had a friend that got into something like that and he drank all the time? Or, do you just not drink, alcohol?

I occasionally enjoy a dry vodka martini. it MUST be polish vodka- Belvedere is about te best I've found so far. The russians are good, don't get me wrong, but the polish are better! (I have to represent)

English beer (particularly porters). The germans are wonderful engineers, but their beer is a bit pale and bland for my taste. I do however appreciate a clean wheat beer in the summer occasionally to cool off.

Not much for mixed drinks. I do have a nice one I created that is quite effective as a 'date r@pe' drink. Tastes like koolaid, but has nothing but top shelf alcohol in it. VERY effective (don't care for it myself- too sweet).

Single malt Scotch wisky. 'nuff said.

Swits will have to make me one of those 'apple pie' drinks. Sounds interesting...

Has anyone ever tried absynthe...Very weird stuff...It is illegal in the states and most countries, but still a few countries in europe distill it. Really expensive...$150.00 a bottle. You can only buy 1 or 2 bottles at a time, I think that is how they get around the legalities. I have never had the real thing, but I have had other versions that have been distilled by a friend. It has a real bitter taste and is masked with corriander and star anise. Kinda like pernod or sambuca. I can't really think of which Vodka is my favorite? I have had most of them, that is pobably why I can't remember...he he :)

I've never had absynthe before, but I have had spiritus, which is basically Polish everclear. It's 198 proof and somehow manages to come around during family occasions if someone brings some over from Poland.

Belvedere is awesome vodka. I bought a bottle of the citrus kind and is was so smoothe!

Get a bottle of Spiritus and distill with some wormwood, corriander and star anise and you'll have homemade absynthe....

Yah the last beer I made was a german wheat beer. It was a partial mash batch...anout 4 pounds malt extract. 2 pounds specialty grains about 1 pound of that was flaked wheat....

The oatmeal stout I made had 1 pound flaked oats in it....

you can get absinthe in the states (through small channels). it's fun, but i wouldn't suggest it often (wicked bad hangovers).

i'm not a huge drinker anymore, but i'll list some favorites:
boddingtons
blue moon with orange
beam & coke
knob creek / rocks
sapphire & tonic
mercury (gin) martini

as far as vodka goes, taste for price value goes to monopolowa (austrian) or finlandia (take a wild guess).

j!m; you like polish vodkas or rye vodkas?

ok i will have to say my favorite by far is Blackhaus! It is awesome! It is blackberry shnapps, that is the only hard liquor i can actually just have a bottle for myself and take swigs...
I also like coor's cuz it goes down smooth, but my favorite babying beer is corona... its nice to have after a hard day of school.

But i despise dry gin, that **** is NASTY!!!

j!m; you like polish vodkas or rye vodkas?

The only real vodkas are made from Potatoes, NOT rye. Rye 'vodka' is rye.

Potatoe vodka can be had from Poland (the only REAL choice) and Russia. Russian vodkas are good, but I prefer the polish vodkas of all the vodkas I've tried.

I think maybe people are/could possibily be taking the hangover picture of Swits the wrong way...I wasn't challenging anyone to a drink off, even though it sounds like fun. It was just supposed to be kinda funny... We were doing so much talking about drinking and everybody was talking sooo much about Swits, that I thought it would funny to poke fun at everyone...If anyone else would have had their picture on this page I would have snagged them up too and made them have hangovers aswell.... Chill....

was just reminded to post this; belvy is rye vodka. chopin is potato, which is why i'm confused.

if you're looking to destroy brain cells, don't have the money for absinthe or are too scared to try crack, give bum wines a try. do not try this stuff if you have to do simple addition or anything remotely requiring motor skills (such as getting yourself out of the gutter) within the next . . . week and a half or so.

I love any dark beers. Actually any beers period..

I had a dark beer just recently called Snow Plow that was really good! The best beer I ever had was in a small mountain town in Poland the last time I was there. I have no idea what it was, but it was warm and served with honey!

As far as wine goes, I've been drinking mostly Yellow Tail for the last month and it's my favorite cheap wine. =) In fact, I'm drinking some right now!

L'Angostura Rum, very rare is awesome.

Just got home from an Irish/Welsh whisky tasting and figured I'd run a search for scotch on here. Big single-malt drinker here. Macallan's overrated and overpriced. Pick up a bottle of Aberlour (especially the A'bunadh) or Glenrothes if you want something good. I'm fortunate enough where I live to have a local bar that has the larges single malt collection (at a bar) outside of Scotland. Last time I checked they were at 600+ and counting. If you're ever in the Omaha, NE area, look up the Dundee Dell, you won't be disappointed (largest liquor selection in the western hemisphere as well).

As for scotch/whisky, I usually stick to single malts, though I will say Johnnie Walker Green is pretty good. Also found out I like Woodford Reserve bourbon. When it comes to scotch though, I'm an Islay fan. Lagavulin 16yo was my first scotch ever, but I can appreciate almost anything (only 2 out of 200+ scotches I've tried that I haven't finished), and have recently become a big fan of Bruichladdich product (I have 6 bottles from them, including two Port Charlottes you can't get in the US).
