I know this should be a Europe-based thread, bu I thought I'd give you US-guys a chance to grab some Euro Compact parts cheap :)

We're currently parting out a Compact, nearly everything's still there, except major exterior parts (hood, both fenders) and the seats.
This car has an 1.6 engine, so slightly different to the 318ti's out there.
If there's anything you'd might need, just send me a PM, I'll get back to you asap.
Please note I'm living in Germany, so we cannot ship everything. Parts that weigh more than 68lbs or are bigger / longer / wider than 46 inches cannot be shipped.
Door panels aren't a big problem to ship, though.

SOLD:
seats
hood & fenders
headlights
rear cargo cover
tail lights (still got another set left!)
the rest is still available! :mrhappy:

i think the headlights (oem glass, correct?) and oem taillights would spike some interest on this forum

angelicmisskitty
08-24-2013, 11:45 PM
Yup, the headlights are genuine glass BMW ones... though these aren't the projector headlights that I usually sell to the States... The Compact was the only car in the E36-range that never had Bosch projector headlights...

sadly only very few Compacts in Germany had them, therefore the genuine ones are super hard to find... and somehow germans like aftermarket stuff, so finding an afermarket one wouldn't be a big problem...

Just received a set of Alcandara blue Boa Boa Interior and thought I'd share it here, maybe someone's interested. :)

the drivers seat isn't in the best shape and has a hole in the Alcantara-side-part, plus another small hole in the passenger side's Alcantara (this is pretty normal and I haven't seen an Alcantara interior without a hole yet). The rest of the interior isn't damaged. Door cards are included as well, these come with side-airbags (most Compacts didn't have these, you could use the doorcards without installing the airbags, though).
Now to the icky part...
I can't ship entire seats. Neither front seats nor back seats.
BUT I could send you the fabric of these, plus the complete door panels (front and rear). That said, you would only have to switch your fabric with this one and you'd have a super rare Alcantara / blue interior.

Could get these shipped for 430$ to the States.

I have yet to publicly state how happy I am with my dealings with Ms. Kitty

I also purchased a few items recently and patiently waited their arrival from Germany. The package arrived on Thursday with its contents wrapped like precious jewels. I am amazed at how perfect the parts are that I received...way understated in our communications prior to payment being made.

It is refreshing to know that there are such people globally...willing to go the extra mile to ensure a perfect transaction.

Thank you very much Kitty!

It's a pleasure to deal with you guys!

Again, a potential buyer backed out on this set, so here is another chance of getting a rare "Individual" Euro glovebox set... Individual means an extra leather inlay in the little dashs. Normal ones do not have these. This time it's black on black.

Thanks much! I'd wonder about if removing the knee braces removed some rigidity inside. I know it not like it's suspension rigidity, but more from a dash squeak future issue. I wonder that the Euro models do in this case?

I'll look and check it out.

You know, the problem is that this is "just" a 316i with over heating problems.
Cars like this one, especially when they don't have any M-stuff or a leather interior AND no current inspection title for at least the next 1.5 years (inspections are required every 2 years here), they simply won't sell for more than 300$. Most of these cars end up on the junkyard. German craigslist is flooded with 316i Compacts as this is often a beginner car here and young people tend to ruin the engines pretty much (by pretending they drive an M3.... )
So these cars either end up on the jukyard, or will be parted out.

Yesterday I got some nice glass headlights, rear view mirror, climate control surround and some other misc parts. All packaged beautifully!!

Thanks to Kitty for good parts at a good price!

The only down side is that shipping takes a while (duh its coming from Germany! and it keeps shipping costs down!), BUT so worth it!

Just got in another steering wheel. Again Euro 3-spoke with Airbag and slip ring. :)
As for the condition I'd give it a 7.5 / 10 (has some slight use on the 12 o'clock area, but the leather and stitching isn't ripped).

Short Chance!!!

We're currently parting out a 318ti Compact, BUT we will only have the car here for 24 hours before it will be taken to the junkyard (need the space for something else then). So, if there's anything you'd might need,
SEND ME A PM WITH THE PART(S) YOU'RE LOOKING FOR AND THE PRICE YOU'D OFFER FOR IT! :)

Everything that will not be taken out within the next 24 hours will head to the junkyard, so here's your chance to grab some parts cheap and quick! :)

The problem is that these sell quite good here in Germany at the moment, so I would have to take something around 180$ shipped for the armrest plus matching center sonsole. And I guess that's more than you guys pay for one in the States :ashamed:

Ya, I picked up the armrest kit from Pelican, I think for <$100, (shipped from Germany), went to the yards and found an E36 armrest for $10 (typically leather trashed) then, get a replacement leather cover for $35 shipped and a bottle of contact cement.

So all in all perhaps around the same after taxes and shipping for the kit and a little labor.

rare opportunity!
Just got in these light grey full leather door cards! This has been an individual option for just a limited time offered through BMW, only for 323ti models and only in 6 different color options. The seats are pretty much wrecked, that's why my friend decided to throw them away and switch over to full black. So here's your chance! :)
These are for cars without side airbags!

250$ for the full set, plus shipping (shouldn't be more than 90$ - 100$ in one big box). Slightly negotiable! :)
If you want to switch to an Euro glovebox as well, I could add a matching (again, super limited!!) Euro glovebox plus steering wheel underdash for another 100$ (only if you purchase everything as a set. The glovebox and steering wheel dash alone would be 150$ shipped :) ) See the last pic. :)

Ya, I like the extra space from the Euro knee panels. Installed the drivers side this evening. I installed the Passenger side knee panel last weekend. Requires a little bracket cutting. 5 min with a Dremel, a few clip nuts and a few screws. Easy...

One other thing to account for is the OBD II socket. In removing the knee pad behind the stock US knee panel, the support for the OBDII connector is removed. I mounted the socket in the rear of the storage bin for easy access for me as I use a Bluetooth adapter with my ipad/iphone for live engine readings. When I'm not using the Bluetooth adapter the OBDII port doesn't take much space.

Sad but true. :( He's from Denmark, that's still Europe, that's why DHL allows extra size packages to be shipped there.
But that shipping problem is just for the E46 shelf. The E36 shelf is a tad smaller and fits the maximum sizes by an inch, I've already shipped two of these to the US and they arrived just fine. So if you'd want an E36 one, it would work :)

black one, 135$ ppd
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i143/angelicmisskitty/E36%20Compact/DSC_0187_zps83e4fed9.jpg

Sand grey / Sandgrau comes with matching shift - and e-brake boots (they show some minor wear, but aren't ripped), 150$ ppd
http://i71.photobucket.com/albums/i143/angelicmisskitty/E36%20Compact/DSC_0188_zps75974153.jpg

I also have OEM sand grey velour/cloth floor mats, but they need to be cleaned up before I can take nice pictures. They also come with color matching floor mats locks, so even if your car originally didn't come with floor mats, you can now add them to your car! (the locks are just bolted into the carpet).
The drivers side mat shows some wear and has a small hole right where the gas pedal ends (and the foot usually rests).
The set would be 110$ ppd, 8 mats locks included.

Kick panels (drivers side + passenger side) 40$ ppd

My husband just informed me that we still have 3 of these 3-spoke Euro steering wheels, so I thought I'd share this, just in case anyone might be interested

Euro 3-spoke steering wheel, 205$ shipped anywhere in the US

Miss Kitty;

Hope you are feeling better and out of hospital.

If so, do you still have any of these steering wheels left?

Thanks

Hey Roger,

sadly I am not able to send any more of the steering wheels internationally. :(
It's forbidden to ship explosives like airbags internationally (and nationally as well, actually) and one of our packages got caught at the customs in Frankfurt, Germany, some months ago, which forced us to drive there (200 miles each way) and pick up the package personally. Since then we stopped selling and shipping these steering wheels, sadly. Which is a shame because our US friends really seemed to like them :(

If / When you find a similar wheel without an airbag let me know. My track Ti has no functional airbags at all. And the too small wooden steering wheel blocks my view of the gauges.

Welcome back.

No, airbags aren't included as we're not allowed to ship explosives. :)

Yes, for items I can't get here in the states, Kitty and Jorg are a great source for items and considering where they are coming from, a fair price once you factor in shipping costs.

My last shipment of front and rear door cards and euro under panels arrived well padded and in great condition.

Sadly not. 6-speed transmissions are crazy rare and expensive over here (1500$ and up) and I can't find a cheap way to ship these heavy car parts to the US, sadly. Engine parts need to be shipped via cargo, which costs around 800$ and up... :frown:

Wish there was an easy way to retrofit those airbag door panels into my '97...

I'll wager that the door panels will fit, might have to remove the airbag and retain just the cover. Won't be any wiring or detector for the door bags.

Secondly, shipping the airbags are a problem, so they might not have to be removed on this side.

angelicmisskitty

Airbag door panels always ship without the airbags and can be fitted into any 318ti just fine, no work needed. We're running a set of airbag-panels on our early non-side airbag TI :)

318ti door sealings - these are actually the luxe versions, coming from a 323ti. We have different ones in the 318ti models here, so I'm not sure if these versions were available in the US at all. They are super smooth leather ones (versus the more stiffer, slightly textured ones our german 318ti's have).
Full set of driver and passenger side one, no rips or holes.

I'd be up for the battery tray and kit.

Shipping to Spring Valley 91977

Any chance of including the sheet metal below the tray and or all of the spare tire parts too?
(without the spare tire of course)

Don't need the jack or the lug wrench so just the roll up tool kit to keep the weight down might be better.

Thanks,
Steve

Note to all (especially Kitty):

The T-handle wrench / cable tool was NOT supplied in the US - we only got the rigid plastic T-handle tool (presumably there's no room for it in this package), so when selling this assembly, please be sure to provide the European tool, or drivers will have a difficult time in the event of a flat tire.

Ya, I saw that in the Pic. It looked like a Z3 cable that lowers the spare tire tray, but not to the ground like a TI spare tray. The question would be if the cable is long enough.

Hey Kitty, just like Rich mentioned, put me on the list too. Will need anywhere from 1 to 3. :D

Many of the Z3 parts for the spare may be a "close" fit.

The Z3 and the 323ti both flip the spare over creating a recess for the battery to sit down into but the Z3 puts the battery long ways vs sideways for the 323ti but the Z3 also uses a different style of jack...

The handle and cable have the same part number for both cars on realoem.

I have you all noted down for one, and will make sure to add the spare tire wire to it!
Right now I only have one left, but I should get a few 323ti's for part out in the near future, so... :D

Please let me know the total for the tool tray and spare tire mounting parts.

I have a complete Z3 setup but RealOEM lists the 323ti parts as different but they must be very similar.

Any possibility of getting just the recessed battery tray section of sheet metal?

For anyone interested, I am attaching photos of the Z3 trunk pan section where the battery recess is.

Effectively, the Z3 trunk floor is the same except for the battery recess and the tire mount points for the lowering cable and retaining nut on the passenger side.

Trusted - I think those of us with swaps are interested to see if you can make this work. I don't see how it will be possible without the sheet metal below since the tire mount is offset. I'm wondering if the tire holder itself isn't different too (different P/Ns). I'm hoping that you figure out a way and that it's doable by mere mortals. Good luck sir!

That would require cutting the piece out of the car, right? In this case, I can't do that. :frown:

Thanks for the update.

Yes, that is what I was hoping was possible.

I still want the parts you can get.

Is it just this car that can't be cut up or is it the process of doing so that is the issue?

Might it be possible on one of the next 323ti car you find to get the sheet metal battery pan cut out?

The part is smaller than the Z3 one I took a photo of just the actual battery tray recess which would be easier to remove.

Whatever you are able to help with would be awesome.

Steve

Cutting it out shouldn't be too much of a problem, but I'd have to figure out shipping costs...

The next 323t should come in any time next week, I'll keep you guys posted! :)

You know what I'd bet those guys who want (or need) to put their batteries in the back would probably like to buy? -- Those nice thick wires that run from the battery to the front of the car.
I bet those are a bit expensive to make up over here.

Eric,
Just go to any salvage yard in the US and pull the (+) cable from any E36 Sedan or Coupe. Don't forget the power distribution block that is attached inside the E36 engine bay (next to right side fender).

Sure, that's what I would do, or use the cables I pulled out of an early 911 years ago, but I'm just saying that there may be interest from some folks here who want their installations to be as "factory" as possible.

Battery main cable is always included now when I sell these battery trays :)
I didn’t think about it the last time I sold the trays, but now I make sure to pull them out of the car as well :)

Kitty, any of the 323i's (or E46s in general have the Self dimming, clown nose rear view mirrors? That mirror and its wiring harness might be of interest to folks here as an upgrade. I have been pulling mine from E39s but, I am watching out for one with the compass and homelink. Anyway, just a mention if you are pulling apart E46s.

Kitty, If it saves weight and shipping, I don't need the cable but anything else to do with the battery hold down parts, tool tray and spare mounting parts I could use.

If you can let me know the parts you can get, I will trim the list for shipping.

Do you know if it is the size or weight that is the biggest factor in the cost?

I know that often it is size first and they charge for a minimum weight and more if it goes over that weight.

Thanks, Steve

Under dash pockets / gloveboxes are always available, armrest will be super heavy to ship but shouldn't be a problem either (I only have leather ones, though), but an M-Tech wheel I can't ship. We're not allowed to ship explosives around (i.e. airbags), so I could only send you the steering wheel itself, not the airbag.

I only have stuff from LHD cars (since we're not in the UK ;) ) and like I said, I always have a stack of Euro gloveboxes available, so whenever you'd want a set, I'd have one ready :)
Shipping an M Tech 2 wheel isn't a problem. I'm not sure if we still have one left in good condition, I'd have to look it up though.
PM me if you're interested and I'll get you prices and shipping quotes on everything :)
