Hello, All

Our slightly aging 318ti has started to produce odd noises from the instrument binnacle. This is cerainly an electical thing - it is most noticeable just after turning on the ignition.

The symproms are an occassional one or two clicks, just like the indicator wanrning noise. I have noticed that the indicators do not flash when this happens, and that they work properly when required. Also, I sometimes get a sort of buzzing noise, like a relay trying to close, but arcing instead.

I am hoping that this is a known problem that I can address by (for example) changing a relay or some other component before it becomes really probelmmatic and rernder the car undrivable.

TIA
Alistair

It turns out that it is the death throws of the thing that makes the noise when the indicators flash. Sometimes the indicators are now silent which is excellent!

Apparently, it does not affect the function of the indicators provided that the dashboard light is working.
