I'm getting 325/328 calipers for the front of my '96, I was wondering if it would be possible to mount my old stock front calipers on the rear. The main reason is after I've installed the new fronts I'd like to get have the rear calipers cleaned & powder coated, and if I could do it to the old front calipers while they are off the car it would be quite convenient.

Thanks

No, not possible. mounting points, rotor size, are different.

yea, you would have to change alot more than just the caliper, rotor size would not be a problem as long as you brought the front discs with the front caliper to the rear. If you didnt there is no way the caliper piston would be able to compress enough to fit over the disc. what with the front being vented and the rear solid.

When i did my M3 front brake upgrade.... I had to change the whole front spinddle.... doesn't apply on this case?
