I apologise for my first post being a sale but I didn't expect to have to sell. Such is life I suppose!
This is a 1995 BMW 318ti I bought a few months ago. I purchased it from a friend who builds f2000 race cars as well as builds and races rally cars. He got this to turn into a rally car but ended up with an already finished mk II gti and had to part with it.
It has an 1995 s50 M motor, trans, and rear. Giant front brakes off of an e46. It has a chip, I am not sure the type. Exhaust is custom with a race cat and muffler. It is LOUD. 70,000mi on the drivetrain. It's been lowered on some type of coil overs. Got a carbon hood and halo headlights. Previous owner replaced all the bushings in the rear.
I bought this car as a project to turn into a track and possible rally/rallycross car but it is not to be. Interior is not perfect but has worked fine for driving around. Since I had planned on removing the rear seats I didn't bother putting rear seat belts in. It's low, fast, very loud and very fun.
The bad: In very heavy rainstorms when it is parked water somehow gets into and shorts the plug on cylinder number 5, causing a misfire. When I dried out with brake cleaner it comes right back. I haven't chased the problem as the car has been parked with only brief drives to keep everything happy and It has not happened again. The right rear rubs on the fender. It has wheel spacers though so if you wanted to remove them it would be just fine. Or just turn the coils up a bit. The left headlight sometimes won't fire up, the fix is to open the hood and hit the rectifier with my knuckles. It's the only car problem that I have had that I have been able to fix by whacking it. Bumper is cracked down low. It doesn't scrape over speed bumps but parking it hard to not bump it.
I have the stock hood, when I realized how much lighter the carbon hood was I kept it on there. I also have some extra wheels and another bumper. I need to sell this outright sadly as my "reliable" Subaru Forester DD has had endless problems and some other unexpected bills.
The car is in Annapolis, MD.
Asking $7,000 OBO.
I will get more pictures tomorrow. Apologies, I thought I had the rest on this comp! http://i1367.photobucket.com/albums/r789/wilson_m/BMWfront_zpsf62551c5.jpg (http://s1367.photobucket.com/user/wilson_m/media/BMWfront_zpsf62551c5.jpg.html)

Welcome to the board. No need to apologize for joining the forum, we're glad you did.

As far as the water getting into the cylinder, my guess is that it's leaking through the holes in the hood where the nozzles are mounted. That and if you don't have an engine cover on there

I am also interested in your car. Can you tell us what coil overs are on the car? How many miles on the chassis? Miles since the rear bushings were done? Any rust?

Can you send pictures to rojogrande7@yahoo if they aren't posted here?
