I would like to sell my 1997 BMW 318Ti. It is a solid, rust-free Florida car that has been garage kept for the 6 years that I’ve owned it. It just turned over 200,000 miles.
General features: 4 cyl M44 engine, 5 speed manual transmission, H&R Sport springs, Bilstein heavy duty shocks, H&R adjustable front sway bar, Kenwood stereo with USB and auxiliary jacks.
Parts replaced in the last 60,000 miles: Clutch (hybrid setup with E34 M5 disc and E36 M3 pressure plate), flywheel (UUC lightweight), driveshaft, engine mounts, oil pan gasket, front cover gasket, valve cover gasket, timing chain tensioner and guides, rear trailing arm bushings, rear wheel bearings, spark plug wires, coil pack, front wheel bearings, rear axle half-shafts, rear differential output seals, front upper strut mounts and many other “while I’m in there” minor parts. Regular maintenance was kept up, oil was changed every 7,000 miles with Mobile 1 Ow-40 synthetic.
Issues:
A/C doesn’t work; the system holds pressure, all the seals have been replaced, and the compressor is 2 years old. The system was clean when I opened it up. The compressor quit coming on, I don’t know why.
The exhaust is in bad shape. It is intact, but there is a lot of play between the muffler and the tailpipe and it rattles but it is not loud.
The clear coat is peeling in several places and the traction control light comes on randomly. The front plastic under-bits have been damage from running up on a couple of parking blocks after I lowered it.
Possible add-ons: I have a small case, limited slip differential available. It was in the car for about 20,000 miles and is still in good shape. I also have a set of 16X7 wheels for this car with Hankook RS-3 tires. The wheels weigh 18 lbs each and the tires still have about 75% tread left on them.
It’s a decent car that needs a new home, I’m going electric. I’m looking for $2300 for the car and am willing to negotiate a package deal for the add-ons. It is a good “fly and drive” candidate.

The wheels mentioned above
