After researching for an extended period of time, I still cannot answer this question: Is the oil check valve, under the cylinder head, necessary in order that I can run my 318ti? I looked on Pelican Parts, only to notice that they have oil check valves in stock - for a whopping $60. I don't even know if I need it, so obviously I am not going to blow some money on a little piece that may or may not be necessary to run the car. Any suggestions? I've tried contacting Pelican Parts, but they only say that they would call me back shortly when they acquire an answer - and it has been 3 days or so. I noticed that there were some other threads posted on other websites that pertained to this same topic, but they didn't receive any guidance either. If you can help, I will gladly appreciate it!
