That is a great deal, if you can get it for $175. Even $275 would be good. If I had the money i'd start bidding :)

I thought so... this is the tranny that I am using for my auto to 5 speed swap. Now if I could just find the rest of the parts.........

The diff ratio is different from an auto to stick.

Are you saying you bought that tranny that I posted from Ebay? My 3.45 diff would go nicely with it. Still waiting to hear back on the diff I'm considering buying.

Yes, I bought the tranny, brace and driveshaft. Your diff. would go nicely with it.

Steve, The auto diff. should be fine.....I don't ever go faster than 45 mph anyway.

Hopefully I can find a nice 3.45:1 diff. soon. I would like a LSD but I think I will settle for an open diff. until I get all the bugs worked out with the tranny swap.

I just spoke with the guy selling the diff I'm interested in, we could have a deal as soon as today. I can't gaurantee when I would put in, so you might have to wait. But if I buy a new diff, I will surely be selling mine.

Ok. Keep me in mind if you do decide to sell. I am still looking for some other odds and ends before I can start the swap. I would like to have it done before spring (in Wisconsin that isn't until April or May). So if it takes you a while that would be alright.

I just got off the phone with the guy, all that is left is to Paypal him the money. I live in cold weather too, so upgrades won't start till spring.

Hey DustenT,

How does a complete 5 speed swap for $470 sound? I just got a price quote, for the whole shibang. Is there a list somewhere of the things that I would need?

Sounds too good to be true. Search bf.c for the complete list. I spent ~$2k total for everything and I did all the work myself. I bought a lot of parts new, like flywheel, clutch, master and slave cylinders....My LSD was more expensive than an open diff, I paid $400 for mine.

Unless the $470 is just labor cost. If that's the case, it's a good deal. Look on bf.c for the "offical auto to manual swap" thread. It's got a lot of good info.

The $470 covers the actual tranny, shift linkage, pedal assembly, clutch......I'm not too sure if it includes the flywheel. I would do the work myself, but, would the auto 4.44 work with a 5 speed?

No. The driveability would be ridiculous. It can be done, but you wouldn't go faster than 45 mph.

Might be good for autocross.

I've been researching a lot, and I made a list. I used www.realoem.com and tried to find every single nut/bolt/small bit I could think of.

Here's what I came up with, along with my own little notes to myself :)
