Hey, I know there are alot of options as far as suspension goes when a 6 cyl is put into a ti. I have a few specific questions though...

Will bilstien sports and H&R's MADE FOR A TI be beefy enough to support the extra weight. if not then....

Will Bilstein sports and H&R's made for an M3 bolt to the stock ti spindles? If so how will the ride be before the 6-cyl goes in (with stock m42).

I currently am planning on putting the M3's S50/52 in but the suspension must be done first (old crap is worn out!) then the 6 will go in. There will of course be some time befor all of this is completed. I only want to do this once, so what is the best option.... Thanks....

no, Ti's equipment will blow under the added weight.

Please elaborate, which part of the ti's equipment will "blow" under the extra weight? Do you mean it will blow as in not perform well or blow as in outright failure? Thanks...

Nothing is going to blow.
I haven't blown anything on my car in 5 years of driving schools.
The LCA bushing was shot but that would have happened anyway.
My control arm is from a 95 M3 only because I wanted solid LCA bushings.
Springs are from a 323ti only because the car was too low with the springs the previous owner installed. Our roads are not as good as the previous owners'.
Shocks are Koni adjustables for a 318ti.

Still have the original sport front sway bar and spindles.

So would you assume that bilsteins and h&r's made for a ti should be sufficent...

-Ian

oh yeah, plus some brake and swaybar upgrades!

Crap forgot to ask something, do you know what springs the previous owner had installed which caused the ride height to be too low (and was it too low before or after the 6 cyl install)? Really the ride height is what i am concerned about, I am sure the h&r and bilstien combo will be stiff enough to still handle well but a don't want the nose to be pointing at the damn ground either!...

It was too low not because of the engine. They where very stiff springs and lowered the car. I could just about get my fingers to clear the tire and wheel well.
