I run Hawk HPS. They have much more grip than stock when warm, and much less dust. No noise either.

I have had Pagids for a year and experienced much less dust than stock and no noise. I did not want to shell out $$ for the Hawks and these allowed me to do only the fronts since the compounds are not that different from the still stock rears.

i run pagid front and back, oe parking brakes.
my friend ran hawk hps+ on his m3, and i found that when they were cool, braking didn't feel very connected. when warmed up on the other hand, they were straight cheddar.

HPS is different from HP+. The second being a higher temp compound that isn't very grippy when cold.

I have 44,500 miles on the original brakes and they still have alot of life left in them, so when I replace them I am going stock again. Who is the OEM manafacturer, I get discounts at BMW and Napa, but of course Napa is a bigger discount (10% above cost) makes it alot cheaper, Napa has Beck Arnley and says "Original Equipment Pad Material - Replace Original Equipment Semi-metallic w/ Semi-metallic Only"

I'm using Hawk HPS on the front with zimmerman drilled/vented rotors and have never heard a peep out of them. Much less dust than stock and much better braking cold (after initial application) and hot. I've had them in for about a year. Stock pads are great if you want average brake performance, quiet operation, and don't mind cleaning your wheels on a daily basis. I bought the Hawks locally at CDOC, a Roundel advertiser, and probably would have perferred Ferodos like I've used for over thirty years in all my BMWs but walking in to a store and coming out with a quality part at a reasonable price with a BMW CCA discount made it a no-brainer for me and the Hawks.
Porterfield R4S with stock M3 brakes Front and rear.

my mistake then. after phil's post, i may change the pad type when i do the vented conversion (leave me alone. it's cold out and i have a lot of work to do) :?

I drive about 65 miles each way to work and back on the Ohio turnpike and I've found that if you run the stock Pagid pads, the rotors will warp right away (even if there brand new) when stopping quickly from high (70-90 mph) speeds. The best combo I've found is Bavarian Autosport cross drilled rotors all around and EBC "Red Stuff" pads in front and EBC "Green Stuff" pads in the rear. The reason for running the "greens" in the rear is that the rear brakes will never get hot enough to actually bring the "Red Stuff" pads up to proper temperature (been there). I run Autocross and track days with these pads & rotors and I've NEVER had another warped rotor since. Let me know if you have any questions.
