i did a S50 swap into a `91 318is...you will need to go to a "referee" to have it labeled legal and pass smog...the engine must be newer than the car.

they do your basic 15mph run and 25mph run...BUT they are very strict on not pre heating the catyltic convertor...they just let it idle before the test...if your engine and emission equipment is in good condition that shouldn't be a problem though...the process isn't that big of a deal...you call the smog place for CA, who will then find a location near to you, they will then give you an appointment...from there on out it's pretty similar to a normal smog test...big rock was breaking out pretty nice today...shoulder height but a bit blown out from some gusty winds...i'm not really a surfer but love the ocean and check it out daily

you live in beautiful location. I got newport and huniington to check out daily :x
Ill be hitting you up when I go down to SD to get a surf report(j/k), I sometimes visit my uncle who kinda lives by you in torrey pines. I think big rock is one of the best left hander in cali and also like blacks. There tons of more weenies in oc.
thanks for the info. Ill swap a m3 engine when I get sick on my m42.
