I keep hearing... "I recently fogged my Airbox"... what does this mean?

I intend on replacing my stock airbox with a Cosmo Cold Air Intake... but what kind of effect do you see out of "fogging" your stock air box?

Personally I saw/felt/heard no gain whatsoever, but it's basically a way to get more air into your air box. Do a search and you'll find oodles of information on it.

I have a 98 318i and am going to start the Fogged airbox mod? I noticed that I have no room to "snake" the 4 inch hose down behind the fog light, because the horn is blocking the way. For those of you who have undertaken this mod where did you relocate the horn to? Pics would be extremely helpful.

Fogging is removing the stock air tube and cutting a larger hole in the airbox (from 2.5" to 4" for example). You then run a larger peice of tubing from the hole to behind the foglights or so.

So its getting more air into the airbox while using the stock filter.
