Are the intake manifold gaskets the same for an m42 and m44 or are they different?

Also, if I change out the manifold to a different type, would I need to adjust the ecu which is already has an aftermarket chip?

no i dont think so but depenting on the manifold you might have to play around with the idel and fuel pressure
i had a custom intake made for my supercharger and my supercharger blow
i put the stock intake back on
when i started the car my idel was at 2000 rpm and there was to much fuel going in
i had the idel set and fuel pressure lowerd

as long as all the sensors are connected and the vacuum lines in place you will be fine

what kind of manifold you puting on

I'm not sure, but I found this guy who has an e30 M3 intake manifold with the ITB's fitted for the m44 and possibly the m42. It's a possibility, but could be a risk. I want to know the info first.
