How would I go about getting one of these, in left hand drive, sent to the US? I'd love to be one of the only E46 ti's in the States....

It would be cost prohibitive to say the least. :)

To have the first one of its kind brought here, you would have to have the car federalised (10 to $15,000 as a baseline for paperwork etc). Then it would have to have US gauges etc. Plus shipping and duty etc.

But yes, it would be cool to have the only one in the US.

In Canada there is a 15 year rule but no federalization so it's more likely that you will see an e46 ti up here than it will be to ever see one in the US.

The BMW site from Germany doesn't list the 323ti compact as one of their models. I could get a 1 series on their site, but not the ti. The base price on the 1er is 23,700 euros...which converts to like $31,125 US. I thought they said it would be cheaper..

Another question on the same theme...I have a friend in the US military. They can buy cars while overseas, then have them shipped home. Anyone know how this system works exactly?
