I have a CAI also but, the only problem im having is the same one you are also. My dad is a mechanic for Mercedes Benz and he said people come in all the time with the problem that their intake is sucking up water. The reason being of course, is because the intake is too low. So what you will have to do is put something to keep water from coming inside, like a piece of metal welded down there, or just shorten it. Thats the best advise I can give you.

if you know the diameter of the tube, you can by a bypass valve from AEM. you will have to cut the tube in half but it will solve the problem of water locking up the motor.

I disconnected my fog light which freed up room to put it reight in teh corner of the bumber, and i did some custom work and cut some sheet metal and covered up some of the holes, a little water is still in the intake area and my intake is a little wet, is this goin to jack up my engine? I heard that becasue the pipe is so long and completly virtical, that the water evaporates before it gets into teh cylinders. Let me know if you guys know anyhitng about this

waht did u guys do wiht the horns that are connected to the head light. see a very small opening for the pipe the go down but there isnt a opening for a 3 inch pipe to clear so what did u guys do with them headlight objects. they are 2 round objects i just wanna know waht did u guys do wiht them, so maybe i can get the cai.

I just put in the cosmo intake this weekend and I ended up cutting a bit off the end of the longer pipe and relocating the horns together. I'll post a picture this afternoon when I get a chance. I fit the splash guard back on but just barely. It does sound pretty cool though.

how hard is it to cut the pipe? what do you cut it with...it seems you may have to have a special saw or something to cut the intake pipe to shorten it...but i am no mechanic...i woudlnt know

no i just used a hand held jig saw i had in the garage with a metal blade that was less than 2 bucks at home depot. i just put it in a vice and went to town. It took a bit to get into the metal at first but once it cut in it was a piece of cake. I'll try to take pictures of the saw i used when i get home friday if you want. Just let me know. It was really a lot easier to cut than I thought.

yeah they have little horn looking openings in them...I just uploaded a picture of my intake in the photo gallery so if you look at that they're the two round things in the bottom right.

the perofrmance gains are marginal at best but i still think it was worth it cause the sound makes me feel cool...it does seem like the top ends of 1st and 2nd go by quicker too but that could just be me...

Yeah, the sound is cool on it. Also I think the higher rpm in 1st and 2nd has a slight difference, so its not just you.
