Hey everyone...still on my quest to get my recently purchased 98 Active in tip-top condition, so I have an alarm question. It has the factory alarm installed and it is quite finicky as far as activating. I would say about 75% of the time I get the "three chirps", which is listed in the manual that a door/hood/trunk is not properly closed. A friend had mentioned that there might be a loose connection in one of the areas. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with a problem like this? Thanks!

Thought I would update this for anyone else as I have found the issue with mine. The problem is with the contact underneath the hood. The piece of plastic that holds it to the side of the engine compartment has bent/broken off so it does not hold it's correct position. In my search for the issue it seems this is somewhat of a common problem, the plastic part breaking thus making the alarm inoperable. The quick fix was to wrap a rubber band around the part to ensure the contact and allow the alarm to arm. Not sure what I am going to do for the long term...
