Anyone have this intake setup on their ti? I was going to order the cosmo, but it seems too complicated to install with cutting things up and sukcing up water, that's no good. So I was looking around and found the Carbon Dynamics carbon fiber cai intake and I wanted to know if anyone else has it and if they like it. Any pics installed? The price is around $240 and if anyone else is interested maybe we can do a group buy and get the price down. I can call them tomorrow and find out.

ohhh I recognize that. I am almost postive Euroruner Magazine tested that on a VW or one very similar to it. They really liked it. I will try to find the issue.

If you're going to do a group buy, what kind of price are you thinking?

I called a place up yesterday and they said their price is $240 and if we get at least 5 people then they could drop it down like $20 or $30 and if we get around 10 then they could drop it a bit more, but that was a rough estimate not a set discount. This carbon fiber intake is straight from Italy. So if we could get enough people the better this will go through.

Is a heat sheild available?

I don't think so because the cf box takes the position of a heat shield and holds the air filter inside and connects to an aluminum hose which goes down to the bumper for the air to enter. Does this help?

This was reviewed by eurotuner on a 1.8t and they really liked it. They recoreded a gain of 5 hp at the wheels, and that was about middle of the pack.

Yeah I know about Carbonio, supposed to be good and looks good. The only problem is that I can't get it because I have a 95 and it won't fit.

Nice. Wish I could get it. If I get an adapter plate, would it be possible to get any cai intake like Carbonio?

Are there any pics from the lower front end or from underneath? Just to get a visual idea of how low it drops down.

No, I don't have or found any pics with the drop, but I'm guessing that you put it anywhere behind the fog light or somewhere down there.
