Hey I have just ordered some angel eyes from umnitza.com and am waiting for them for arrive. I have been told that it is possible to connect the halo rings of the headlights to the alarm, so that when the alarm is activated the halo rings fade out like the interior lights do. I think this would look great! But is it possible? If so how do you wire them up?

I have never heard that it was possible to do this, but will be awesome if you figure out how to. I still need to order my angel eyes from umnitza!

Yes it is possible but very difficult and labor intensive for any E36 specially for the ti. Now for the E46 is a different story. Matt from Umnitza did it for my E46 and took him 20 minutes. It works as you just described. It's very cool. It works with the interior light switch and dims out after a few seconds.

I understand that in order to do it for the ti or any other E36, a big portion of the dashboard will need to be removed.

Ah ok! Thats great! I will get in touch with Umnitza because that is who I have purchased my angel eyes from. Thanks!

I have been in touch with Umnitza bvut unfortunately they are unable to tell me how to wire my angel eye rings up to my alarm so that they dim out with the interior lights.

I think I just need to take a live wire from my interior light and connect it up to my angel eyes via a diode. So when my interior lights come on, so do my angel eyes but when I turn on my angel eyes my interior lights do not come on. Could somebody please confirm this for me or tell me another way to wire them up?

Yes,
it is a correct mode to wire your angel...

moreover
you can use a rel่ (relais)
therefore your interior light put only signal (on off)
while the power for angel
it comes supplied by battery

Sonds like you are going in the right direction. I would love to know the results. Take some pictures and let us know how you did it and the parts you used.

I am still a little unsure if this is the correct way about wiring them up. I will try to do some tests first so that I don't damage my angel eyes. My digital camera does not work and need to buy a new one. I will let you know how I get on with it though and post some pics if I can.
